In 2013 OTF started a training laboratory project
for theoretical and technical study concerning the intricate
relationship between theatre and film. The aim is to consider the
questions of fidelity of documentation, the efficacy of translating
into film language and the personal point of view of the spectator
when filming theatre.
The workshops' ambition is to provide a basic
knowledge on how to film theatre performances; to reflect on the
procedures involved in realising theatre documentation and detect
potentialities, difficulties and possible languages of expression;
to make video recordings of current activities; to produce short

practitioners interested in the techniques of producing videos of
their performances and for film-makers interested in broadening
their experience by confronting the particular situation of filming
a theatre performance.
The workshops take place in conjunction with the
activities of Odin Teatret and Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium, thus
allowing the participants to have an exchange with Odin Teatret
actors and other artists in residence.
