The choir march in, smartly dressed with white, sparkling jewelry and hair neatly set. But very soon this smooth facade starts to crack. Stories begin to appear through the stitchings and from behind stiff collars.

Nothing is left unturned: Insomnia, snow storm and the best city slingers! The longing for organic milk, to be a horse, the longing for love. With buckhorns we call for the wildly sailor: "Trilo!". Armed with raised music stands and drums we warn about the coming murderous attack. And then without further warning we go into a vigorous march armed with ukulele and horn, leaving the stage, more human and happy than when we arrived.

So many stories, and many more, are to be found in Choir Stories. We are still working on it!

The texts are from "Apartment songs", a novel by the young Danish author Stine Pilgaard.

The music is Swedish and Norwegian folk music, Nordic Korlyrik and Nordic jazz by TrineLise Væring, Helle Hansen and Stefan Forssén.

The performance was entertaining, moving and very touching all at once with intens interaction among the actors and between the textual, musical and scenic variation. The traditional concert form has been given a serious and worthy counterpart with this "theatrical" choir song, which becomes expressive and vibrant when singing and choreography merge into one. Behind the "Good Company" lies a huge and serious amount of work, which most certainly has given a fantastic result! "

Helle Høyer Vedel, korleder, Århus Pigekor

Boreas has with their Choir-theatre concept
created their own form of choir concert,
which is both poetical, energetic,
versatile and thoughtful.
The performance is alive and different,
and of course super musical. I highly recommend them. "

Bo Gunge, composer and musician

Thank you to Catarina Bosæus and Borea Choir Theatre for their very fine performance "Songs of the cold seas". Beautiful arrangement, sensual and poetic stories from the long winter night of the Arctic Ocean (...) An inspiring journey into moods and fragments from this beautiful and peculiar little choir theatre. An experience that returns and falls into place over time because thought, reflection and a lot of humanity has been put into this work."

Helle Hansen, jazz composer and singer

This is our name. Boreas is the God of the northern winds, in Greek mythology. He is strong, bearded and fiery. He owns 12 mares that are able to run across a mature field of grain without breaking a single axis. This mixture of gentleness and raw power, along with the Nordic universe, is the basis for our name.

For 12 years we have created our own theatre form, which we call Choir Theatre. Choir theatre are performances which we create ourselves from beginning to end, with choir song, physical theatre and literary texts, all gathered together to tell a story.

Our music is very broad but has it's origin in the Nordic universe, where jazz, a little pop, folk music and Nordic / classical choir poetry are included.

Trilo Korhistorier is our seventh performance.
