The Rite of Sharing
a work demonstration with Daniele Santana (Brazil)
The Rite of Sharing is a solo demonstration of work, performed by the actress Daniele Santana who for 14 years acts and research theatre in the Contadores de Mentira group.
In this demonstration the actress shares some basic elements of how she constructs of some of her characters created by her during her time with the group. She invites the public to see a little of the intimate moments, when she searches for a character through her bodily explorations and creations.
She also shares traces of the group investigation about the "actor / actress - brincante", that uses knowledge of Brazilian popular culture, its dances and rhythms, for physical training and also for the reconstruction of a "broken" body, that pulsates and dances first on the inside and then on the outside, in the form of actions, intentions, and metaphors.
This work demonstration presents performance fragments, scenic exercises, the group's physical dramaturgy. In order to celebrate a theme and not just interpret it for the sake of dramaturgy.

Actress, activist and cultural manager. She has worked for the Contadores de Mentira group since 2004, where she develops theoretical and practical research on Anthropological Theatre, with emphasis on the concepts of "Metaphor, rite and celebration", which is the basis for research and construction of the group.
With the Contadores de Mentira she has created the works: (in theatre) "Curra-spices on Medea" "The Incredible Man on the wrong side", "Eat me: Or state of revolt," Rumi - , co production with the Ecuadorian group Contraelviento theatre, and "Don Quixote". (In music) "Band Counters of Lie"; (in interventions) "Reliquaries of Memory", "TV Contadores de Mentira" (in video) "Break me - apotheosis of an utopia stretched to the limit of death; (demonstrations of work) "Rite of Sharing", "Thinking with the feet".
She is manager in the Cultural Space Contadores de Mentira Theater, where she is part of the Coordination of Pedagogical - Cultural Projects.
She is the creator of the projects "Belly in the web - women's encounters of the stage", which discusses women's protagonism and women's legacy on the stage, and "Stage and Patio - artistic experiences at school" that develops cultural formation for children and educators.
She is a member of the The Magdalena Project International Network, nowadays established in more than 50 countries.
It integrates the "Legal and Roots" exchange project that had two international editions and two national ones. Receiving masters and teachers from various parts of the world. She is also one of the creators and organizers of the Festival E (s / x) tirpe Meeting for Celebration and Rite, which was the third edition and gathered about 50 groups of theatre, dance and music.
In production she was part of the Knots Knots International Festival; I meet
Regional of Authors of Alto Tietê; From the FIIT International Festival of Theatrical Roads;
of 5 editions of the Suzano Theatrical Reference Exhibition.
In training she develops courses and theatrical experiences focused on the researches based on the Anthropological Theater. She is an educator in the projects: "Actuators clay in the city of concrete "and" Pedagogies for the imbalance "of the group Contadores de Mentira. She has already developed workshops and lectures in several independent institutions and with individuals, public schools and associations, SESC, group spaces, independent collectives, at the Central Engineering University of Peru, at PUC Peru, at the Central University of Ecuador, at the Casa Baltazar Cultural Center in Cordoba Mexico, Cultural Center of Ayacucho Peru, Cultural Center of Munro in Buenos Aires Argetina, Cultural Center of Maringá - Paraná.
She is editor of the newspaper "On the other side of the line"; and author of the "Book of the Educator - theater in the classroom ", by the BOCA DE CENA project of the publisher DCL. Has published articles in the Cuban magazines "Conjunto" and "La jiribila", and in the Argentine blog "Magdalena 2º generation.
It is a member of the FLIGSP forum that discusses and fights for Public Policies for
Litoral, Interior and Greater São Paulo. It also integrates the "Cultural Corridor" movement that promotes Exchanges of knowledge, experiences and Circulation of artistic works.

TRANSIT FESTIVAL 12 - 23 June 2019
An international theatre festival for women in contemporary theatre. This year’s festival theme is Hope in Action, during which 56 performances, 6 workshops and two art exhibitions will be presented by more than 75 artists from 5 continents.
The Transit Festival has existed since 1995 and it is part of The Magdalena Project, an international network of women in theatre created to enable women to produce work that more profoundly reflects their own experience. The festival is directed by Julia Varley, actress of Odin Teatret.
