Anna Stigsgaard is a Danish theatre director who has played the violin from the age of 4. She has created theatre performances in Denmark, Brazil, Italy, and Romania, working with both small independent theatres, larger municipal theatres, and national theatres, and touring in Japan, Brazil, Portugal, Austria, Italy, and Denmark.
In this talk, she will explore how music has always been an indispensable partner in her theatre work, whether it be street theatre, stage performances or large scale community / site-specific projects, and why her next project - involving 4 classical chamber musicians and just one actor, so that music becomes the material of the performance - puzzles her.
