The production
With the support of Asia Culture Center (ACC) in Gwangju, South Korea, KAPAP South Korea, and Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium – Odin Teatret (NTL-OT) Denmark, a new journey takes its beginning in 2021. This co-production is a continuation of a three-year collaboration built on mutual understanding and a shared mission. How is it possible for two continents to share, understand, and heal the wounds of human beings trapped in war? Both sides have memories of a past filled with cruelty and victories.
The “After War” co-production consists of a new constellation of artists at Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium (NTL), the performance group MOA - young artists who only know the history of war through images, footage, and writings, with a common aim to create an artistic bridge between the past and the present.
Danish Premiere:
4th-5th December 2021 - Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium – Odin Teatret, Holstebro Denmark
World Premiere:
28th-30th January 2022 – ACC Theatre 1, Gwangju, Korea

Both performances were initiated by Per Kap Bech Jensen, Director of NTL-OT and Dr. Dongil Lee. It is a collaboration between Asia Cultural Centre in Gwangju (ACC), Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium (NTL), and Eurasian Theatre Institute (ETI) led by Dr. Dongil Lee in South Korea.
The creative team behind the original collaboration was made up by Kai Bredholt, Odin Teatret actor and director of the showcase performance “Sorrow and Seeds”, with Dr. Dongil Lee, founder of Eurasian Theatre Institute (Korea) as Co-Director and Søs Banke (NTL) as dramaturg of the showcase performance.
