Karolina Micuła, Poland

For Karolina Micuła, the individual journey to find her voice became a developmental journey, a path towards her own identity, not only artistic, but also social and political. It started with activism. Her relation to art was always a mixture of theory and practice, accompanied by difficulties and doubts. Dreams were mixed with a backup plan for life. Activism and the street woke her as an artist, understanding the political meaning of art and our duty towards society. Karolina Micuła wants to share her story and her voice.

Karolina Micuła is a performer, actress, singer and songwriter, voice teacher, lecturer, video producer, feminist and social activ- ist, awarded for her artactivist and performative projects. Double winner of the 38th Review of Actor Songs in Wroclaw. Current- ly, while training in music production and working on her debut music album, as MICUŁA she creates music and produces music videos addressing relevant social issues. She works with voice, making use of scientific knowledge about tension-free phona- tion, theatrical tools for working with the release of expression, interpretation and conscious relaxation. She practises yoga, dance and explores techniques for conscious body/mind work.
