Ildflue Akademiet is a free time activity for exploration in the world of art.

The aim is to give children the possibility to meet different artistic disciplines through the question, “what is my dream?”, resulting a theatrical installation.

The participants will build a giant “world map” as a stage, on which they will develop material over three different topics. The topics are distributed over three periods during the season 2020-2021:

1^st period: Who are we and how do we see each other?

2^nd period: Our relation to cultural manifestations from other countries through dance and song.

3^rd period: We will work with the five senses in order to create a sensory experience through food.

At the end of each period there will be an open presentation.

1^st PERIOD. Dreams 1: My country through your eyes

8 sessions, 2 hours each + 1 open presentation

October: 10, 17, 24, 31

November: 7,14, 21, 28

Open presentation: 5^th of December

During this period we ask: What is your dream?

During the sessions, the children will have the opportunity to develop different skills: drawing, painting and playing musical instruments, in order to create a world map filled with dreams.

2^nd PERIOD. Dreams 2: Dancing and singing the world

8 sessions, 2 hours each + 1 open presentation

We will fill the world map with eclectic rhythms to accompany the ritual, taking as a point of departure the vocal creativity and different dance sequences brought by the participants. The world map will be filled with flowers of different colours and shapes.

The flowers will blossom and guide each participant towards self-knowledge and tolerance towards diversity in an intercultural community.

3^rd PERIOD. Dreams 3: Eating the world. Flavours and aromas

8 sessions, 2 hours each + open presentation

We will prepare delicious and simple food recipes from other cultures, and embody and personify the world map installation to enhance and boost the children’s five basic senses: touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste. The creation of this sensory experience will conclude in a small banquet honouring the ritual of gathering around a meal.
