Cinzia Ciaramicoli
She joined theatre in the late 80's when she discovered Odin Teatret and ever since she has used theatre as a tool to reach communities and used her pedagogical skills with children with disabilities and disadvantaged youth. Cinzia lived and worked in Malaysia for 13 years (from 1995 to 2008) and together with Shanthini Venugopal founded "the Jumping JellyBeans" theatre company producing children's performances. Together with Shanthini, they organized and directed the first International "Children's Theatre Festival" in Kuala Lumpur in 2005. Her community arts projects have been awarded in Malaysia and critically acclaimed overseas.
In 2008 Cinzia presented her solo performance "Rumor" directed by Roberta Carreri - a tribute to her grandmother's theatre life. Rumor travelled in Asia and Australia over the years and now is being translated in Italian and French for the European public.Cinzia moved to Melbourne in 2008 where she learned more about projects with people with disabilities and people with Alzheimers and organized several important projects in the community including some exchange programs between Australia and Italy.
She has since moved to Lyon, France where she founded "Théâtre de la Cour" in 2013 reaching children in schools and senior citizens of the community.
In 2014, Cinzia and Sabera Shaik have been working together on the performance "The Dream Dance" coproduced by Théâtre de la Cour and Masakini Theatre and under the direction of Else Marie Laukvik.
The Dream Dance has been presented in Kuala Lumpur in August 2014.
