Riotous Company is founded as a British Charity, led and run by Mia Theil Have (former actress at Odin Teatret), and is an associate company to Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium.
Riotous Company created Out Of Blixen, about the controversial Karen Blixen and her illuminating stories, directed by and starring Kathryn Hunter in co-production with The Print Room in London; created Scherzo for piano and stick (London, Rome, Denmark tours); toured the dance-theatre piece Insomnia: a pas de deux drama for two girls and a piano man to popular and critical acclaim, and premiered the aerial theatre concert with Gisele Edwards Divertimento for rope and strings directed by Mia Theil Have.
In the field of opera Riotous Company has developed Unquiet a new opera for teenagers devised by the RPS Award-winning creative team behind We Are Shadows (5*The Times), and co-produced the premiere of Penelope X with the National Ballet and Opera of Macedonia.
Riotous Company supports and collaborates with The Freedom Theatre in Palestine.

Nocturne for babies and their sleepy adults with the band Scandinavian Singing Club, touring at the GrowOp Festival in 2019; The Sandpit in Rainy Weather a new musical for 3-6 year olds about friendship in a polluted sea; Eyes of the Landscape a po-ethical homage to nature, a wild theatre concert where nature and community sits on the first row holding hands.
Riotous is currently developing Fools’ Songs in Northern Light in co-production with Hakkehuset, aiming at production in 2022.
