Ikarus Stage Arts is an international performance group and platform for artistic exploration directed by Odin Teatret actors Carolina Pizarro and Luis Alonso. They have been part of NTL – Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium, in Holstebro, Denmark since 2017. Ikarus is a group of performers dedicated to exploring different strategies of scenic creation, always using its daily training as a bridge to creation. Our aim is to help develop autonomy, creativity and the capacity to intervene in our society through art.

Among the wide range of activities organized by Ikarus, it is possible to find meetings with art professionals and masters from all over the world, “Summer day” camps for children, workshops, theatrical concerts for families, street parades and performances. The aim is to bring their work to places and people who do not normally have access to theatre. This means Ikarus has performed in some unusual places such as Arts Galleries, factories, nursing homes, the local refugee centre and centre for the protection of women, both in Holstebro.

However their activities are not only limited to Holstebro. They have also performed in Landsskuet Herning, Kulturmødet Mors and ARoS Aarhus Art Museum and some of the Ikarus members are currently developing personal projects in Guinea Bissau, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador and China. Recently Ikarus was invited to the WUZHEN THEATRE FESTIVAL (Oct - Nov 2019) to participate in the nonstop Outdoor Carnival in the ancient streets of Wuzhen (China) with theatrical concerts and to the 1st Hispanic American International Festival of Rhode Island (USA), with its performance “Te duele”.

Among the members you find performers from Argentina, Chile, China, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Great Britain, Guinea-Bissau, India, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Spain, Slovakia, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, USA and Venezuela.
